10. Noosa, QLD
Situated on the aptly named Sunshine Coast, Noosa is one of the top shore towns in Australia. It has a beach for each occasion; a nude beach, a swim beach, a chill beach and a surf beach, plus a number of secret shores too.
The National Park, provides some great coastal and rainforest walks, and can also be excellent for wildlife spotting - you should see some enormous goannas (lizards) and if you're lucky a koala or two.
Naturally delightful, modest and quiet, but with loads of amenities, it is actually an idyllic area.
9. The Red Centre, NT
People frequently discount going to Uluru because "its just a huge rock", but it's really much more.
Firstly lets get it directly just how enormous it's - taller than Sydney Harbour Bridges and longer than 3 the Eiffel Tower, its takes 8 hours to walk around it - so it is a very, very large rock.
There is a magic about it also, how stunning it's in a landscape of nothing and just what with its significance in aboriginal culture - graphics do not do justice to it. People likewise don't realise there are two other more notable, but less renowned geological wonders close by - Kata Tjuta and King's Canyon.
There are not many better places to camp.
8. NSW, Sydney
A constant argument between backpackers in Australia is Sydney or Melbourne? Having lived there for 7 months I 'm a bit biased, but Sydney wins hands down every time for me personally.
Absolutely home to the most amazing and iconic harbour in the world beaches and luscious green gardens. The city is friendly, clean and safe, with celebrated shopping and eating areas. Just an hour and half drive out of the city centre is the remote wilds of the Blue Mountains.
7. VIC, the Twelve Apostles
The shore between Torquay and Warrnambool, inhibits some of the very most picturesque, natural cliff sculptures the world - the most famous being the 12 Apostles. They are continuously being eroded by the ocean, before they disappear, so see quickly.
The Great Ocean Road that takes you along the journey, is among the very best coastal roads on earth.
6.Far North Queensland, QLD
Cairns and it's setting would be the venture capital of Australia. Bungee jumping, scuba diving, skydiving, white water rafting and more. Its natural beauty is essential too - the dense jungle around the region provides a number of the top swimming holes in the united states.
5. Fraser Island, QLD
The world largest sand island, is a must do on any backpackers checklist when in Australia.
There are numerous tour operators which will take you for many or are days, generally onto Fraser Island.
Certainly one of the finest locations on earth for onshore whale and star gazing watching - this isle is packed packed with activity and there's loads of chance to get your swimmers on too. From the numerous crystal clear freshwater creeks and lakes, to dunes and dense rainforest 20 reports high - it's a place that is strikingly beautiful.
4. The Top End, NT
Often overlooked by men and women foolishly; the Top End is archetypical Australia.
Katherine Gorge along with Litchfield and Kakadu National Parks, supply that solid, wild, "Crocodile Dundee" landscape you think of, when you envision Australia.
Should you intend to determine wild crocodiles or learn more on the topic of aboriginal tradition, here is the place to come.
3.The Whitsundays, QLD
These sensational tropical islands, set in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef, are really the definition of eden.
2. WA, Karijini National Park
Karijini is absolutely breathtaking, with its many gorges, iron abundant stone and vibrant colours. Why is Karijini so special though is, not only is it amazing to consider, but it is also an interactive adventureland.
You are restricted by most national parks to keeping to the path - Karijini forces you to get stuck in and clamber over gorges, wade through gullies and swim in natural pools that are beautiful.
The reason it's really amazing is although it is at the center of nowhere, however don't be put off by the journey, it is absolutely worth the attempt.
1. WA, Cape Le Grand National Park
Off the beaten track, neighbouring Esperance and Cape Le Grand National Park are actually like Karijini. Five hours eight hours from the closest city, from the next nearest town and ten hours to the next state - its remoteness is what causes it to be so special and so untouched.
It really is worth all the effort it will take to get there; what with its, brilliant blue seas, crystal white sands...oh and kangaroos on the shore (find them at Lucky Bay)! It is possible to possess a beach to yourself for the entire day, but when that's not your thing there are some excellent walks across the entire park.
A postcard perfect place.
